Student Spotlight
Each week I shout out one student from each class for setting a positive example. Students have the choice to put their name or take a polaroid picture for the wall.

Amazing Student Work
Student work is displayed at the front of the classroom and teacher feedback highlights why it's amazing work.

Student Engagement
Students love reviewing for a test because they know they get to play Trasketball.
For the formative task, students wrote their responses on their desks.
Sometimes for daily starters I have students work in pairs and come up to the board to record their groups response. This helps students become more comfortable and confident coming up to the board to share with the class. Here is an example.
I will choose 2-3 students to come up to the board to show their work. After we will have a class discussion and students will identify and discuss the different strategies their classmates used to find the answer. Here is an example.

In class I often like to use task cards. Task cards are a great way to differentiate instruction and engage students. Students work in partners and are given a task card. Students show their work and complete the task on the whiteboard. Afterwards students will do a gallery walk to see the different strategies students used to solve the tasks. Here are some examples from when students completed PSSA multiple choice task cards.
